Dollar Zone robbed, suspect sought
Sun-Current Today TV News Monday, Dec. 28 Bloomington Police are seeking a single gunman who took the highway to the Dollar Zone. The man, described as a light-skinned black man wearing a black puffy jacked with red lettering, robbed the Dollar Zone store, 9805 Nicollet Ave. S., at about 8:15 pm Saturday, Dec. 19. The man brandished a gun and said to an employee give me all the money or Ill shoot you, according to Bloomington Police. The employee, a 27-year-old Crystal man, complied. He was not injured. Anyone with information about the robbery should call Bloomington Police at 952-563-4900. The Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club hosted its second-annual Holiday Pops Skating Exhibition and VEAP Benefit on Sunday at Braemar Ice Arena in Edina. The event brought in more than 20 grocery bags of food shelf donations and $1655 in monetary donations for Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People. The exhibition featured city of lakes figure skating club members in single, pairs, trio and ensemble numbers. VEAP is a local nonprofit agency serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons in the communities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis. Eden Prairie is looking for volunteers to join its Community Emergency Response Teams. CERT members are trained to respond to disasters and mass emergencies.
