		<description>they can not tell you not to save someones life, they can how ever tell you you cannot leave the store while on duty. so if you do it again, they can terminate you for breaking store policy ... Leaving a retail store unmanned leaves it open to theft and the company has the right to tell employees to man their post.</description>

		<description>A company can make a policy, but you do not have to abide by it.  They would not likely take any disciplinary actions against you for doing so because they wouldn&#039;t want the ensuing negative pubicity.
But the reason they made the policy to to insulate them against lawsuits filed by the estate of someone who expires despite assistance from their employees.  You as a volunteer first responder are insulated from lawsuits, your employer is not in all states.  The policy helps protect them.</description>
