I would also say the red cross website …

Comment posted Could Someone Help Me Acquire A Decent First Aid Kit Please? by Jellybea.

I would also say the red cross website as you know any profit will be spent in a decent way, Either that or make up one of your own ,mine is in a plastic kitchen tub.
you will need wipes, plasters, gauze, tweezers, gloves(if any one else needs treatment) thermometer, safety pins, sterile dressings, bandages, tape. I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.

  • Go to Boots the Chemists, they always stock First aid kits
  • I’m not sure where you live but if you live in Canada call St. John’s Ambulance. They have great kits and I think they’re less than $100.
  • Most auto parts, home improvement or military surplus store will carry one. Red Cross website also carries them.
  • if you are in the uk aldi are doing a fab one just now. its £2.99 and i just bought one. it has scissors, tweezers, gauze plasters bandages allsorts of stuff. an absolute bargain.
  • I would think that most larger drugstores would probably carry them already assembled. If you would like to make one yourself, here’s a good site with information.http://www.essortment.com/all/firstaidki…

  • Can You Be Suide Or Charged For Using First Aid?
no you can not be sued if you are rendering aid to someone that is injured (the burning car). there is a law called the good samaritan law that in laymans terms says if you render aid to someone and that person can not sue you for aiding them. good luck
  • Can You Be Suide Or Charged For Using First Aid?
if you are First Aid certified you can’t be sued. There’s something called a Good Samartian Law that protects people, the important thing to remember is not to anything you’re not qualified to do and if the person is conscieous ask if you can help them first.
  • Can You Be Suide Or Charged For Using First Aid?
There are many laws protecting a bystander giving first aid. If there are no trained professionals around, and they won’t get there in time, then yes by all means save the person. I would rather not be able to walk than die. If you want a better answer, I suggest talking to an ambulance administrator. I think if someone tried to sue you in this case, the judge would probably throw it out. Be sure to ask about a good samaritan law
  • Can You Be Suide Or Charged For Using First Aid?
People can (and will!) sue for just about any excuse- including some that are flat-out stupid.
But yes, there is a good-Samaritan law out there to help protect against that particular kind of litigation.
  • Can You Be Suide Or Charged For Using First Aid?
Yes, you can be sued for providing aid to a person that winds up injured because of your good efforts if you weren’t properly trained.
There are good samaritan laws to protect people who are only trying to help, but you have to read them. Sometimes in some instances they only protect First response physicians and emergency crews, and not the everyman.

I, too, would make your own. Get a “Tupperware” box and stock it with what you think he might need the most. Favourite has got to be a box of plasters, some antiseptic, cotton wool, scissors and a few dressings & bandages. Look at the contents of the ready-made ones which are available everywhere and tweak what you put together to suit. You could for instance include some newly-bought painkillers, which you’ll never get in a ready-made kit as they’re considered medicines.
All first-aid kits should be tailored to meet the circumstances in which they’re likely to be needed. You’re not looking at a fix-all full kit with which he can rush out and administer first-aid to someone, just something to deal with those knocks, cuts and scrapes we all get around the home.
That’s a good, practical idea you’ve had there.

I would definitely make your own – that way you can personalize it. The video series in the source link shows you all the stuff to put in a first aid kit. Great gift idea!
