You know... I'm 54 years old, and I don't think we've had a thermometer in the house in like... oh... I dunno.... 20 years? If I were trapped on an island, I'd want food... lots of it... and a good boat yard.... and satellite TV... with a high speed internet connection... and a great set of stereo speakers, so that I could listen to music from all over the world (TSS Radio out of Paris is one of my favorites) but I wouldn't give a rats behind whether or not there was a thermometer anywhere on the damned island.
